the 2nd annual MARZON-YEAH! awards - part 1 - THE EXPERIENCE

WELCOME ONE AND ALL TO ONE OF THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS AWARD SHOWS IN ALL OF MY HOUSE. This is a chance for me to share the best and worst of all the movies I saw (strictly) in theaters or whatever other categories I want to throw in. Today, we look at the categories of:

TOP 10 OF 2017

BEST THEATER EXPERIENCE

FAVORITE MUSIC (SCORES & SOUNDTRACKS)

MOST DISAPPOINTING MOVIES

Without further ado, here are my picks:

TOP 10 OF 2017

2017 Top 10.png

(in alphabetical order)

BABY DRIVER

THE BIG SICK

COCO

GET OUT

INGRID GOES WEST

IT

LADY BIRD

RAW

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

WONDER WOMAN

Fun to note that my list has 4 "horror" movies. IT is the only straight up horror film but has a coming-of-age tinge to it, while GET OUT is a more psychological horror/thriller, RAW is a body horror movie, and INGRID GOES WEST is a too-real horror movie for the Instagram world. I used to hate watching horror movies, and I still do, it's just that these have an interesting twist on the genre that I loved.

(Find my 'honorable mentions' HERE!)

BEST THEATER EXPERIENCE

(Basically, which movies were the crowds the most interactive? Which movies had an audienc that was laughing or cheering or crying or super into the movie as I was.)

THE DISASTER ARTIST

DUNKIRK

IT

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

WONDER WOMAN

MOST DISAPPOINTING MOVIES

These were the movies that I had high expectations for, for one reason or another, and was just major let down by.

ATOMIC BLONDE

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (2017)

FREE FIRE

MUDBOUND

THE MUMMY

OKJA

THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI
